Swains Camera Phone Zone continues to grow from strength to strength with Swains offering their promotional support to 170 retailers who have joined the scheme since it began in October 2004. Following the successful Valentines radio advertising campaign, which saw nearly all retailers involved in the promotion sell out of the V550 handset, Swains decided to repeat the radio offer over August Bank Holiday.
The Motorola V550 phone was on Camera Phone Zone promotion over the August Bank Holiday weekend, with £60 off the retail price. To make consumers fully aware of the deal at their local photographic retailer, Swains offered retailers 50 per cent split cost advertising on their local radio station. 16 retailers signed up to the promotional support, with a radio campaign broadcasting for each across 12 stations nationwide.
Stuart Warren, Retail Telecommunications Product Manager, at Swains comments: "The radio campaign booked in February produced great results for Camera Phone Zone retailers, so we decided to repeat the offer of 50 per cent split cost radio advertising this August Bank Holiday. We are delighted that 16 retailers signed up and went live on air to build promotional support the week prior to the bank holiday. As well as supporting Camera Phone Zone retailers on the radio waves, we also provide in-store merchandisers, dummy handsets and in-store posters to help drive custom in-store. To join the Camera Phone Zone retailers have to do is purchase 12 handsets from across the range, with a minimum of four from O2, Orange and Vodafone.
