Spicer Hallfield is planing to offer in-house digital art book printing following Leach Colour sale.

John Wyatt, CEO at Spicer Hallfield, the market leading presentations solutions company, has moved quickly to ensure continuity for its photographer customers following the sale of the photography division of Leach Colour Laboratory.

Spicer Hallfield has bought a Polielettronica 20 x30" Laser Lab Photographic Printer Printer, formerly used by Leach in the production of Spicer Hallfield Digital Art Books.

Explained Wyatt: "The decision by Leach Colour to sell their photographic division comes at a time when we have been looking very closely at all our manufacturing and production procedures - including our imminent relocation to our Bradford site.

The opportunity to buy this laser lab and install it in-house at Bradford, where our Digital Art Books are manufactured, could not be missed."

He added: "Our prime concern at all times is to guarantee product continuity for all our customers - and this purchase enables us to do that.

We are employing former Leach staff to run the Polielettronica machine, and after extensive testing at Bradford we will produce in-house prints for our DAB albums.
Every company must focus not just on the present but also on the future, and make rational and expedient judgement calls accordingly.

The purchase of this equipment also provides the potential long term prospect of a portfolio of fully assembled albums with prints included - produced in-house.

In times like these it is vital that we capitalise on all opportunities to safeguard our customers' and our staff."

The Polielettronica (20"x30") is an integrated laboratory offering state-of-the-art technology in photographic printing and produces high quality prints from a wide range of digital media.
