Envisage, the business initiative supported by Fujifilm Professional, has launched a new award scheme for its members. The Fujifilm Envisage Photography Awards will act primarily as a sales tool for members and will have monthly Merit Award judgings throughout the year.

Up to 10 Merits will be awarded each month - offering valuable PR opportunities for the winners - and these winners will then be entered into the finals in January. As with the successful Distinctions Awards formula, all entries will initially be accepted online, then prints must be made for the final judging.

Darron Hartas, managing director of WPS Media - the company that runs Envisage on behalf of Fujifilm, says: "I'm delighted to announce the new Awards programme, which is exclusively for Envisage members. It will give photographers another valuable tool with which to generate income for their studios.

"There is a cash prize of £1,000 for the consumer who is the subject of the overall winning image and we are not limiting entries in any way. You may submit weddings, portraits or any other image that you feel may be an award winner."

Entries can be taken on either Fujifilm Professional film or via digital capture. They are then submitted at the members' section of the Envisage website. Artwork will be available for those who wish to produce leaflets, posters, etc for their sales promotions.

The overall winning photographer will receive a trophy and PR support from WPS Media. Runner's up and Merit winners will receive certificates and PR support.

The competition will be open for entries as from 1 February 2006. Full information is available from the Envisage website www.fujifilmenvisage.co.uk

The cost of joining Envisage is £90 per year. This is reduced to £60 following the first year. Other benefits of membership include downloadable business modules, ready made promotions, member's only information website, half-price website design and hosting, free listing on the public directory website, www.photographersearch.com, free loan of portable exhibition stands, product discounts and a direct marketing database.

Envisage members also qualify for discounts for events run by the UK's main photographic associations. The British Institute of Professional Photography, the Master Photographers Association and the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers all give Envisage members the same discounts on seminars and courses as the members of their own associations.
