DNP have released their latest drivers & firmware upgrade that will allow DNP DS40 and DS80 printer users to create matte finish prints on the fly without the need for changing print media.
The new printer driver window now displays an "overcoat finish" command under the advanced options tab. When the user selects "matte overcoat finish", the firmware automatically adjusts a combination of thermal settings on the printer's thermal head. The new settings cause the thermal head to "etch" a matte surface into the media overcoat during the final stages of printing.
The firmware upgrade is available for all DS40 & DS80 models and the new drivers are compatible with Win XP, Win 2000, Win 7 and Win Vista operating systems.
