Photomart has announced the launch of two new Exan Dry Labs. The DNP print engines of the new Dry Labs will have the capacity to produce matte finish prints in addition to standard, glossy finish prints. Notably, there will also be no need to change the print media when switching from glossy to matte finish printing and vice versa.

The new models will be designated Exan ML-8000MF and Exan ML-12000MF and these will replace the current ML-8001 and ML-12000 models. Other than a firmware upgrade and new driver installation, the specification for the MF models will however remain exactly the same.

"Although this is in essence just a software upgrade it happens to be a very significant one. It is an important leap forward in functionality and represents a vital evolutionary step in the further development of dye-sublimation based Dry Lab solutions. I believe therefore it more than justifies the name change." says Photomart Senior Marketing Manager, Mr. Jurie Gryffenberg.

Vendors, who are currently operating Exan Dry Labs with either DNP DS-40 or DNP DS-80 print engines and with compatible OS platforms installed, will be able to have their systems upgraded to the MF version. Vendors are advised to contact Photomart for further details about upgrading their machines. Or they can attempt to complete the upgrade themselves although it must be noted that own upgrade attempts will not be supported by Photomart unless subscribed to Exan's fidelity support plan.
