Mitsubishi's range of kiosks have been designed to be easy to use digital photo solutions for the retail sector. The new models are the Kiosk PT7000 and the PT10000.

All of the kiosks in the range enable users to manage the entire printing process themselves by using the intuitive touchscreen which takes users through a process of viewing, selecting, editing, printing and saving their pictures. Editing options are available and include borders, calendars, red-eye reduction, conversion to black & white or sepia, zooming and colour adjustments. Mitsubishi's kiosks accept all major digital media cards, CDs and DVDs and can also upload photos from mobile camera phones via bluetooth(tm).

All are also based on Mitsubishi's highly regarded CP9550DW-S dye sublimation printer that produces full colour, bleed to edge, durable photos in 3.5"x5", 4"x6", 4.5"x6", 5"x7", 6"x8" and 6"x9" formats. Additional printers can be connected for multiformat printing in addition to Mitsubishi's CP3020DE dye sublimation printer which can produce larger format 8"x10" and 8"x12" photographs.

The Kiosk PT7000 has been designed to suit the requirements of retailers who want to be able to offer a simple affordable digital printing solution to their customers. It is available as either a counter top version or on a pedestal. A key feature of this new kiosk is that it can be used in a remote printing environment meaning that the touch screen part of the kiosk can be placed in the retail store whilst all the printing can take place in a 'back office' location. This can be instant printing using Mitsubishi dye sublimation printers connected to Mitsubishi's DPS Click IT5000; an instore mini-lab where 1-3 hour printing can be offered; or a 1-3 day postal service using an external lab, depending on the customer's requirements and the volume of prints required. Such solutions can help reduce valuable surface area in the store.

Mitsubishi Electric will also be previewing the new PT10000, which has been specifically designed as a digital photo printing and multimedia kiosk that can be installed in completely self-service areas, such as shopping centres and airports. This robust kiosk enables users to download mobile phone ringtones and games. In addition images can be saved onto Mitsubishi's own web album, for download and printing from the Kiosk PT10000. Payment can be made with cash, pre-pay card or credit/debit card.

Mitsubishi will also launch the new DPS Click IT5000, which replaces the successful DPS Click IT2000 micro lab. Designed as a staff-operated solution, the new IT5000 offers photographers and retailers the ideal solution to process customer's photographs digitally, do enlargements, edit, restore and copy to copy. It is an expandable solution that allows the connection of additional CP9550DW-S printers, the CP3020DE printer for larger format prints, DIS900D camera for id photos, as well as film and flatbed scanners. The new IT5000 can be connected to a mini-lab or full processing laboratory through a LAN connection or via the internet, which is ideal for retailers who already offer photo processing but want to expand into the digital arena. The Mitsubishi IT5000 can be purchased as a desktop solution or an in a new pedestal unit which will house upto two of the CP9550DW-S printers.

Mitsubishi will also be exhibiting a new home printer the Sublime (CP-D2E), a dye sublimation printer that produces full colour, bleed to edge photographs in a 4"x6" format. The Sublime can be connected to a PC or laptop, or it can print directly from a digital camera that is PictBridge compatible. The Sublime is lightweight and compact, and is a sheet fed printer with paper and ink being supplied together as a set.
