The deadline for the 2006 Fujifilm Student Awards is fast approaching. Students have until April 1st 2006 to submit their entries.
This year's Awards has the subtitle, 'The Best of British', and students are asked to submit images that best sum up cultural Britain. The competition, which is the longest running and most prestigious student photography award in UK, will see the winner collect a first prize of £1,000 and the title of Fujifilm Student Photographer of the Year.
Each Merit winner will receive £50 worth of Fujifilm Professional film and will be asked to submit a print for final judging. The college that submits the most entries will receive a Fujifilm Professional counter-top refrigerator containing £500 worth of Fujifilm Professional film.
All images must be taken on Fujifilm Professional film. The images are then submitted online via www.fujifilmstudentawards.co.uk Students can take advantage of a discount scheme, Shoot and Scan, which has been set up by Fujifilm. Selected professional labs across the UK are offering a 25% discount off the processing and scanning of any Fujifilm Professional 35mm or 120 roll film on production of a voucher. Entry is open to all students undertaking full or part-time professional photographic training, or full or part-time graphic design training of which photography is a major part at a UK based college or university.
