Bill Bowman, an influential figure in the professional lab industry used to run three professional laboratories; he was a founder member and chairman of the Professional Photographic Laboratories Association PPLA. This however wasn't enough; Bill thought he would have a go at publishing, by launching the very successful Panorama magazine.

So it should come as no surprise that the Association of Imaging Professionals AIP (the PPLA under another name) under the direction of John Williams, owner of one of the biggest and most successful laboratories in the country has decided to re-launch the Panorama as an E-Magazine.

The format of the old Panorama was that of a Newspaper in that it was packed full of interesting and informative pieces on the industry, articles on the movers and shakers as well as industry firsts.

The format at the time proved to be a winner, the new E-magazine intends to live up to the same successful format.

The Panorama will incorporate the best of the new with features of the old, all the ideas and format's that made the Panorama so popular with its readers.

The imaging industry has lacked its own voice in recent years, other magazines are influenced by the retail and photographic sales side of our industry, money controls content and although this will always ensure any magazines future, it does however not necessarily promote the best and unbiased journalistic content.

The Panorama, will for the first time in many years be able to put the voice of the Professional Laboratories the imaging professionals, a voice that has been sadly lacking in industry magazines in recent years.

The Panorama has all the intentions of being honest, brutally honest, the industry is crying out for a publication to tell it as it is, to bare all, to expose the myths and propaganda that seem to be taken as gospel by the image takers.

The Panorama can do all this and more as we are not bound by advertising revenue for our survival, we don't have to toe any line, we don't have to keep any one particular photographic group happy.

We will provide a platform for debate and honesty within the industry, so get your thinking caps on and get ready to send in your soap box rant, your ideas, your success stories, because your voice, for the first time in a long time, is about to be heard.
