Mr. Michihiro Hatta of Sony Europe Ltd. has recently stated in a letter to Mr. Lewis Martindale of Wincastle Ltd. t/a Photomart that Sony's printer production facility has resumed limited production and that the fulfilment of printer orders will now resume.
Mr. Hatta further states that Sony's production facility was badly affected by a shortage of key components and raw materials sourced from suppliers in areas that were severely impacted by the recent devastating earthquake and tsunamis in East Japan. He also states that, despite on-going aftershocks further recovery progress is being made on a daily basis.
According to a statement recently released to the press by the Sony Corporation in Tokyo, nine out of the ten sites and facilities that were affected by earthquake and tsunami damage, have now either resumed or partially resumed manufacturing operations.
