The readers of The Photographer magazine have voted Fujichrome Velvia 100 Best Transparency Film in the BIPP Photo Industry Awards 2006.
This is a tremendous accolade as it is voted for by working professional photographers and not a panel of judges.
The Award was presented at a recent ceremony on the Thames in London. Product Manager for Fujifilm Professional, Richard Linney, is delighted with the accolade: "After such a long and successful run with the original ISO 50 speed Velvia, it is pleasing to know that pro photographers have taken to this faster emulsion and voted it the best in its class. Velvia 100 has all the attributes of its award-winning predecessor but with twice the speed and finer grain."
Fujichrome Velvia 100 is the film of choice for leading landscape and nature photographers and it provides a more useful speed for greater flexibility in varied shooting situations.
Colour saturation has always been an important feature of Velvia 50. By incorporating advanced cyan, magenta, and yellow couplers, new Fujichrome Velvia 100 gives photographers the saturation they require with the added advantages of higher speed and finer grain.
The new film boasts an RMS granularity of 8, an improvement over Velvia 50 and ranking it alongside other Fujifilm professional film products, such as Fujichrome Astia 100F, Fujichrome Provia 100F and Fujichrome Velvia 100F as the finest grained in its speed class. The new colour couplers employed in Fujichrome Velvia 100 significantly improve colour stability and freedom from fading/shift over conventional films.
