In line with its aggressive growth strategy, Photo-Me will be introducing a brand new, fully featured high-speed digital minilab - the DKS 1770 - that it claims out-performs and out-produces competitive minilabs despite its smaller footprint.
The DKS 1770, designed primarily for high-volume retail photofinishing operations, employs an innovative, highly reliable 350-dpi resolution LED light source. Developed by the company's renowned R&D program, its sharpness and colour accuracy exceeds that of the popular DKS 15 Series minilabs that have won the last four DIMA Shoot-Out competitions for image quality.
The double-track DKS 1770 prints up to 2,000 6x4-inch pictures per hour and makes photos from 3.5x5" to 12x18" in size. For larger print sizes, the DKS 1770 can be networked to external digital printers. There is also an optional plug-in chemistry module with capacity for 100m2 of paper, enabling production of 6,500 4x6 prints - the equivalent of 260 orders - without having to replenish the unit. A unique modular design packs all of this productivity into a footprint of just 1.25m2. And with no rear access, the unit can be positioned against a wall, reducing the cost for training, maintenance and parts.

The company's new flagship minilab is controlled via a touch-screen monitor and utilises double-track printing for optimal productivity - whether processing 135 film, APS film or digital files. The cost-performance ratio of the unit based on output speed, operating costs and other factors is the best in the industry.
Options include 120 and slide film carriers, a bar code reader, an additional paper magazine, a dual-lane order sorter (100 orders in 4x6-inch format), and an external CD burner.
