Swains International is encouraging independent retailers to go paperless this autumn and use the new electronic price list instead of the old paper version. All retailers' need to get started is a PC with Internet connection.
The electronic price list enables retailers to download the latest prices and products on offer through Swains at the click of a button. And with Swains' sister company, Swains Voice and Data, able to connect retailers to high-speed broadband connection, there really isn't a quicker way to keep up to date with what is going on in the digital imaging, video and photographic world.
As well as viewing the Swains' price list online, retailers can link up with Kodak, HP, EPSON, Casio and Adobe, Swains' channel partners, to view consumer catalogues, order point of sale material and in some cases receive online support for their staff.
Danny Williams, marketing director at Swains, comments: "With the electronic price list, retailers can order on line update their price lists daily to make sure they are on the pulse of things. There is no danger of them missing out on a great price reduction, which could entice more custom in store and add more profits to the till.
"And as well as adding to the retailer's bottom line, it is our small way of reducing the amount of paper we are all guilty of wasting. Longer term as a company, we are trying to move away from paper-based operations and get everything set up electronically, which is why we are encouraging retailers to get online with the electronic version of the price list. We even gave away free Hewlett Packard PCs to 34 retailers at this year's trade show - that is how keen we are for all our retailers to get up and running electronically. And the overriding benefit is that everyone will be kept instantly up-to-date."
