In its second year, Living Exposure, a photography auction evening established to raise funds for 'Help the Hospices', has again been a great success. The event sponsored by specialist photographic insurance intermediary, Towergate Camerasure, raised 65,000 on the evening.

The charity event not only ensures that all the proceeds go to 'Help the Hospices', it also recognises photographic excellence within the industry.

Paul Dyer, Non-executive Director of Towergate Partnership, was delighted with the outcome: "We are extremely grateful to all those photographers who demonstrated their kindness in support of a good cause. We received an amazing response to the images contributed and the event was a true celebration of the best in British photography. Without our close connections to the UK photographic industry, we wouldn't have been able to raise such a handsome sum for a worthwhile cause."

The event, held at Bonhams, Bond Street, featured an auction and draw of more than 200 photographs, all donated by leading UK photographers. The images also included a separate collection of 'exceptional' works donated by high profile photographers such as Brian Griffin, Don McCullin, John Stoddart, Tom Stoddart, John Swannell and John Claridge. The lots also included a Tom Murray Beatles photo from the 'Mad Day' in 1968 and Barry Lategan's iconic Twiggy 'Face of '66' photo, which raised over 10,000 between them.

Maxine Blunden, corporate fundraising manager for Help the Hospices was keen to pay tribute to the event: "We are truly grateful to Towergate Camerasure for all their efforts in staging Living Exposure for the second year, and to all the photographers who donated images. The funds raised will go a long way to supporting the charity's initiatives."
