In response to the news that X-Rite would no longer be producing the Pulse ColorElite and Optix XR, Geoffrey Clements, Managing Director of Europe's leading independent colour management specialists, Colour Confidence, released the following comment...

"Since the announcement of the merger between X-Rite and GretagMacbeth we have been waiting for news on product range rationalisation. We are very pleased that X-Rite has made the decision quickly as this provides a clear position and reduces uncertainty within the market. On the other hand it is disappointing that we will be losing two very high quality products and that there is now less choice in the market. The arrival of the Pulse in February 2005 signalled a shift in the market where high-end colour management solutions were becoming available to a wider audience. It is absolutely vital that the new X-Rite maintain their innovative product development capability as well as their pioneering approach to pricing and product positioning."

"We will continue to offer the Pulse and Optix to our customers over the coming months until production ceases. X-Rite have committed to supporting the products for the next six years and any customers looking to take advantage of purchasing these products before they go end-of-life, will benefit from this great technology and a significant saving on the current list prices of the products."

"At Colour Confidence we continue our aim of ensuring that customers have access to the widest possible range of products and that they purchase the right product for their needs."
