Olympus has launched a new compact digital camera onto the market, the FE-230. The new camera measures just 16.5 mm thick, and is available in UK now for 150.
The FE-230 uses the TruePic TURBO image processor and features a 7.1 Megapixel CCD, a 6.4cm LCD screen and a 3x zoom lens.
The camera incorporates a 'one button, one function' design principle and a mode dial lets users choose between the camera's eight different shooting programmes, which include High ISO Setting mode with ISO 1250, Super Macro and Movie recording with sound.
Aimed primarily at 'happy snappers', the FE-230 carries 18 preset scene modes including special Underwater modes which (when used with the optional Underwater Case PT-038) give the freedom to take shots up to 40m below the water's surface.
