Judged by some of Lancashire's leading business pioneers and the media and sponsored by HSBC, the first annual business awards were designed to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women in business.

The two categories up for nomination were the 'Unique Business of the Year', an award which recognises an outstanding business with proven growth and ambition, looking for creative marketing, development of good client relationships and imagination and the 'Jean Seery Woman of the Year', recognising the achievement of an inspirational woman, someone who has contributed significantly to the business.

The awards were presented by Esther Rantzen at the annual dinner on November 10th at The Dunkenhalgh Hotel near Blackburn.

Annabel Williams Contemporary Photographic Training was short listed for both awards. The business received Highly Commended in the Business of the Year and Catherine Connor the Managing Director received Highly Commended in the Woman of the Year.

Annabel Williams Contemporary Photographic Training has gone from strength to strength training over 3,000 photographers, and has influenced some of the leading photographers in the industry. Catherine Connor leapt into the photographic industry leaving an international career behind her to join Annabel Williams as one of the industry's most inspiring business development trainers.
