DIMA 2006 Innovative Digital Product Awards announces new format

The Digital Imaging Marketing Association(r) (DIMA(r)) is sponsoring the 10th Annual DIMA Innovative Digital Product Awards to honor unique products featured at PMA 2006. This year, it is changing the event's format to enhance the competition and allow exhibitors to better promote their winning entries. For the first time in the event's history, winners will be announced and given their awards during a press conference Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Sneak Peak press event held the day before the opening of the PMA 2006 International Convention and Trade Show.

"We wanted exhibitors to experience the full PR value of this prestigious award," explained PMA's Chad Munce, Group Executive, Digital Imaging Markets and organizer of this event. "This year, from the moment a company receives the DIMA Innovative Digital Product Award, it can promote its product or service to the press. In addition, from the minute the PMA 2006 doors open, winning firms will be able to display the award at their booth."

DIMA Innovative Digital Product Awards are given to products or services utilizing new technologies and/or applications that make the product either distinct or the first of its kind. In the past, judging took place during the Sneak Peak press event, which meant winners couldn't be announced until later during the convention.

Special Note to Marketing Departments and PR Firms:

Exhibitors or their representatives will be asked to submit entries and digital photos for their product/service by January 6, 2006, to allow a panel of industry press to preview the information for the DIMA Innovative Digital Product Awards. All entries will be evaluated based on the following questions:

1. Why is this product/service considered innovative?
2. What sets this product/service apart from its competitors?
3. How does this product/service benefit its user?

Exhibitors who wish to be considered for the award must exhibit at PMA 2006 and display the innovative digital product at Sneak Peek, the pre-show press event sponsored by PMA.
