Colour management specialist Colour Confidence continues to build its working relationship with the RAF, as a key sponsor of the recent RAF photographic awards. Held at Whitehall in London, the awards showcase some of the outstanding examples of work from the RAF's specialist photographic trade.

Colour Confidence has been working closely with the RAF, both as a colour management consultant and a supplier of colour management solutions, since 1999, and the awards are an excellent example of how this relationship benefits the photographic section. Managing Director Geoffrey Clements, who attended the event, expressed his admiration for the standard of work on display:

"The quality of entries this year was excellent, and gave the judges an extremely difficult task in choosing the winners! At Colour Confidence we are very proud to be involved with this unique competition. We work very closely with the RAF to ensure the quality of their digital workflow is second to none - and if the results of this year's event are anything to go by, we can be confident that we are being effective".

"The RAF photographic trade constitutes approximately 180 personnel, making it the largest specialisation of its kind in the British Forces. Their remit covers a wide range of applications including engineering photography, Media Operations and Corporate Relations, Combat Camera Teams and medical, dental and forensic photography. Whatever the task, accuracy and consistency are paramount, and Colour Confidence provide ongoing support to ensure this is achieved throughout the photographic division's digital workflow.

"When people think of colour management, the RAF is unlikely to spring to mind as a potential customer", comments Geoffrey Clements. "However, this example proves just how vital effective colour management can be in the broadest range of organisations. We know at first hand how important the work RAF photographers do really is, and how important the accuracy of that work is too. The RAF photographic awards offer just some of the recognition the men and women working in this field truly deserve."
